As Southern Baptist Churches we are called to be great commission churches, and as great commission churches our churches should be actively involved in getting the message of Jesus Christ here and around the world. We need to start with our neighbors, then our communities, then our state, then our nation, and finally to the world. Jesus told the disciples that when the church received the power of the Holy Spirit to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. This is not an either or, this is a command of Jesus to be actively involved as witnesses of his saving grace in all parts of our lives and to the world.
